Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Reaction Puzzle web game (“the Service”, “we”) collects, uses, and shares information when you play at games.orelkabetz.com. We are committed to collecting only what is necessary to run the game and improve it.

1. What we collect

Automatically, in your browser (LocalStorage):

  • A random, anonymous playerId so we can identify your leaderboard entries.
  • Your chosen display name (only if you enter one).
  • Your daily streak counter, mute preference, and free-play quota.

On our servers (Upstash Redis, hosted by Vercel):

  • Your published scores and display name, indexed by date.
  • Anonymous event counters (game starts, completions, publishes) with no personal data attached.
  • Your IP address is used transiently for abuse-rate-limiting; it is not persistently stored beyond a 60-second window.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

The Service does not set advertising or tracking cookies on its own. We use browser LocalStorage (see above) which is essential to gameplay. If you interact with third-party advertising SDKs (see § 4), those third parties may set their own cookies subject to your consent choices in the banner shown on first visit.

3. How we use your information

  • To run and improve the game (leaderboards, streaks, quota enforcement).
  • To measure aggregate engagement (funnel counters, e.g. how many plays end with a published score).
  • To detect and block abuse (rate limiting, integrity checks).

4. Third parties we work with

  • Vercel Inc. — hosts the site. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
  • Upstash Inc. — provides the database for leaderboards and counters. See Upstash's Privacy Policy.
  • Google AdSense — may serve display ads on this Service. Google may use cookies to personalize ads. Learn more and manage preferences at Google's ad policy.
  • AdinPlay — may serve rewarded and interstitial ads on this Service. See AdinPlay's Privacy Policy.
  • Ko-fi — if you choose to tip, Ko-fi (and its payment processor PayPal) will process the payment. We never see your card details.

5. EU / EEA / UK users

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right under the GDPR to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time via the site's consent controls. To exercise these rights, contact us (see below). We rely on your consent as the lawful basis for non-essential cookies and legitimate interest for the essential game data.

6. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data retention

Published leaderboard entries persist for 14 days on the daily boards, then are deleted automatically. Event counters are aggregate and retained indefinitely for product analytics. LocalStorage on your device stays until you clear it.

8. Your controls

  • Clear your data: browser settings → clear site data for this domain.
  • Opt out of non-essential cookies: use the “Reject” option in the consent banner.
  • Do-Not-Track: we honor the DNT header where set — no analytics beacons fire.

9. Changes

If we materially change this Policy, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, for significant changes, show a notice in the game.
